They’ve Got Guns, We’ve Got Guns, All God’s Childrens Got Guns

The title caption is a quote from the big scene of the Marx Brothers’ Duck Soup, as Freedonia goes to war. It’s one of the greatest mixes of satire and surrealism in cinematic history, and was amazingly predictive in its satire for being filmed in 1933. It’s included in the first four minutes of this YouTube clip:

More importantly, given the homicidal eruptions here in Kentucky recently, it’s worth keeping in mind that we’re not the only state saddled with a lunatic fringe. In Jon Stewart’s piece below, I defy you to find one reference to Kentucky:
