Of course, the mayoral race in Louisville is shaping up as a cavalry charge. Suddenly, there is word that many are urging John Y. Brown III, who served as Secretary of State of Kentucky from 1996 to 2004, to run for Mayor of Louisville. Name and experience are only part of what decides elections—financing, organization, personality, and strategy are all important too. But Brown’s name would be in the top tier of potential candidates.
