In a little over two weeks, the Fayette County Democratic Party will raise all its funds for the year. From those funds, no money is paid to any politically connected directors. In fact, no money is paid to anyone for any work in the Fayette County Democratic Party. The funds are used exclusively to pay for office space, phones, computers, printed materials, and other resources for Democratic candidates in Fayette County. The funds insure the ground game is there to meet the challenge of what the Republicans are crowing will be a Democratic doomsday in 2010. The dinner is also where all Democratic candidates will meet and speak to the audience of future volunteers, and is extremely well-attended by candidates.
The annual fundraising dinner is Saturday, February 27, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Lexington. The doors open at 5:45, and dinner begins at 7:00 p.m. To order tickets online through ActBlue, click here.
