    (Updated) Bill Clinton Coming to Kentucky for Jack Conway, Who Apparently Had Good Fundraising in 2nd Quarter

    Who really knows? Jake doesn’t think it’s happening, CNN has someone who thinks it is. Since there’s no definitive way to judge at this point, wait and see to find out if Bill Clinton will be coming to campaign for Jack Conway. One would think that if Clinton isn’t willing to lay down a Kentucky visit it would suggest this race isn’t as close as it appears to most observers, but it’s July, and that means there are over three months until this all gets sorted out. Still no press release from the Conway campaign to confirm what appears to be good news on his fundraising efforts or the ethics charge dismissal…

    Think Rand Paul’s in good shape?

    Bill Clinton doesn’t back losers, and he’s heading for Kentucky:


    Clinton will also be used in Kentucky, where Democrats would love to pick up an open seat now held by the retiring Republican Sen. Jim Bunning. Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway, the Democratic nominee, faces off in the general election against Republican nominee Rand Paul, a favorite of many in the Tea Party movement.

    Conway also turned in some apparently good numbers in second quarter fundraising, and apparently might have gotten good news on the ethics complaint filed against him in the primary, but so far no press releases have been issued from the Conway campaign on either of those issues. Still, news that Clinton is coming is good for Conway.

    I still want an endorsement of the President and his policies that doesn’t have spin and amelioration attached. Let’s also get an endorsement of, and support for, women’s reproductive rights and equal access for homosexuals. An invitation extended to the President and Vice-President would be a start.

    Will the Seretary come or “just call me Bill”?

    Damned if he does look like the late housepainter from Austria in that photo! Now for the best news possible … It’s a photo released by his campaign and carries the imprimatur of the ‘official campaign material’.

    Sorry about mis-spelling Secretary in referring to Hillary Clinton.
