Conway Challenges Paul to Debate Every Other Day Between Now and Election Day

Interestingly, Rand Paul, who has always seen himself as a super-genius intellect towering far above the average human, evidently has finally garnered enough cerebral power to realize Jack Conway would mop up with Paul in a debate. Which of course makes Jack Conway’s challenge to Rand Paul to debate an unlikely one to be accepted, but still makes for a nice press release from Conway:

In order to present the clear choice in this election, U.S. Senate candidate Jack Conway today challenged Rand Paul to a
series of debates in every corner of Kentucky.

Conway proposed statewide debates hosted by the following local sponsors:
1. WAVE3 NBC: Louisville on 10/7;
2. WCPO ABC/Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce: Covington on 10/11;
3. Kentucky Broadcasters Association/CNN: Pikeville on 10/12;
4. Paducah Chamber of Commerce: Paducah on 10/14; and
5. Kentucky Education Television: Lexington on 10/25.

In addition to these specific debates, Conway also agreed to meet for a debate in Bowling Green on a mutually-agreeable date.

In order to communicate with Kentuckians outside these media markets, Conway also challenged Paul to debate him on Fox News with Chris Wallace and Meet the Press. While Paul has said he is interested in a Fox News debate, he has refused to agree to NBC’s Meet the Press’ Senate debate series.

Paul’s debate evasion is part of his ongoing efforts to hide the following positions:
1. Paul believes drug abuse is not a “real pressing issue” facing families.
2. Paul accepted contributions from individuals in the pornographic industry, and has refused to say if he will return the
money.
3. Paul favors eliminating the federal Department of Agriculture, including crop insurance for Kentucky’s farmers.
4. Paul “backtracked” on his signature issue of balancing the federal budget next year, and still without showing his secret budget scheme, Paul now says he’ll try to balance the budget over a five-year period.
5. Paul would end federal mine safety regulations that have saved lives.

Jack Conway said, “As Attorney General, I’m proud of cracking down on drug abuse, removing child pornography from the Internet, and holding big oil and drug companies accountable.

“Rand Paul believes drug abuse is not a ‘real pressing issue,’ but Kentuckians sure do. While Rand continues his disturbing pattern of not facing Kentucky voters, I’m looking forward to presenting the choice in this election: between my record of holding people accountable and Rand Paul’s ideas that hurt Kentuckians,” Conway added.
