Rand Paul Runs Away From Another Appearance with Conway, Pulls a South Park

Remember when Aqua Buddha was humiliating Western Kentucky on national t.v. by saying Fancy Farm speakers had to watch out for people throwing beer on them?

Good times…

The St. John’s of Paducah annual picnic starts today and goes into high gear on Saturday, with speeches from 4 to 5:30 Saturday. Only an idiot would surrender the stage to thousands of voters to let the opposition seize the entire day, right? But of course, Rand Paul, who evidently doesn’t need Western OR Eastern Kentucky is probably just so intellectually superior that he realizes something most normal human beings don’t…

Kentucky Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul won’t be speaking during the political speaking portion of the St. John’s Catholic picnic in McCracken County Saturday.
Kyle Poat, with the picnic, says officials from Paul’s campaign told him that due to another commitment, Paul will be at the picnic to walk around and meet and greet folks for about an hour from 1 to 2 pm.
Poat says Paul’s opponent, Democrat Jack Conway, and the rest of the political speakers will speak at the regular time beginning at 4 pm Saturday.

Allison Haley, Jack Conway spokesperson, said, “Rand Paul will not stand toe-to-toe with Jack Conway and debate the issues. St. Johns is a critical event in Kentucky politics and Rand Paul is snubbing the people of McCracken County by skipping out. This is not a surprise since he ran off stage at Fancy Farm and then accused people of throwing beer at him. Maybe Rand is hiding because voters will get to ask him why he believes illegal drugs are not a pressing issue. Rand
Paul just doesn’t get Kentucky.”

Which begs the question: Did Rand Paul do this a few days ago, when he saw a poll with a 15 point lead and once again start smelling, well…

  1. LumberJock says:

paul isn’t coming out from under his pet-rock. mcconnell has tamped him down like a stick of dynamite. paul will continue to campaign by proxy. He will send out tea-beggars and media reporters to do his talking.

This of course begs the question: Are they going to Washington for him so he may ‘serve by proxy’? Wouldn’t doubt it. His opinion of government is so low, it’s hipocrisy for him to run or serve.
