[2nd Updated] Republican Rand Paul’s Brownshirts Assault and Stomp the Head of a Moveon.org Woman Before the KET Debate

The Kentucky U.S. Senate race candidates were at Kentucky Educational Television in Lexington tonight for a debate. What had been a peaceful, good-spirited rally before the debate outside the studios turned very ugly, as Republican Rand Paul’s supporters showed their true colors. Republican Rand Paul’s supporters plain and simply attacked a Moveon.org supporter for daring to carry a sign that the Rand Paul supporters disagreed with politically.

Ironic that the same brownshirts who will stomp the head of someone who they disagree with politically wear buttons that say “Don’t Tread on Me”. If you know the name of this person, identify him in the comment section of this post, because this man should be facing jail once he is identified. This man ran away like the coward he is after he attacked a woman, intentionally hiding his face to avoid being identified for prosecution of his crime. This is the face of a man who assaulted a woman who he disagreed with politically. This man tried desperately to hide his face from being photographed because he realized he was facing liability for grabbing her from behind, pulling her to the ground and trapping her while she was curb-stomped. Watch the video of Lauren Valle being attacked:

The victim of this criminal assault was a small woman, carrying a smallish sign (smaller than a yard sign) that said Rand Paul was Employee of the Month for Republicorp, and the victim was a political opponent of Rand Paul. But unless a totalitarian state has been imposed on the United States, disagreeing with someone politically does not mean that a person is subject to being dragged to the ground, held, and stomped in the head. Presumably, the attacker here realized it was still America, and that people aren’t supposed to be attacked for their political beliefs. That’s why in the photo below taken after the attack, the coward literally hides behind a Rand Paul sign, to obscure his identity:

Finally, here’s the ironic shot: the attacker who has just held a woman down while another attacker literally tread on the victims head against the pavement is wearing the Rand Paul sticker, and a “Don’t Tread on Me” button. It’s fine for him to hold down his opponents while another person literally treads on them, but “Don’t Tread on Me”. As further evidence of his awareness of his criminal responsibility, this attacker left on foot, hiding his face and not returning to his car out of fear for his license plate being able to be used to identify him for his attack.

Nice. Identify this person so he can face criminal prosecution.

[UPDATE: Lisa Graas has some information that sounds like the attackers are being identified. And commenting posters here have also found a photo that matches one of the attackers. Looks like they are going to be identified sufficiently to face the criminal justice system.]

    2ND UPDATE:

The headstomper has not only been identified, he is touted by Rand Paul in today’s Lexington Herald Leader in a full-page advertisement as one of Paul’s supporters!

@ justafarmer: That’s fair. I can’t personally confirm that the name is Pezzano.

I can and will swear under oath that the person in the photo at the top of this post is of the man that I saw chase the victim, grab her from behind, drag her to the ground and hold her while her head was stomped. What that person’s name is, I can’t confirm. But the other attacker is already charged with assault, and I believe this person should face the same charge.

  4. Teddy Pants says:

Right. What about homeboy that got his finger bit clean off a couple years back? Oh right, it’s politically inconvenient to the left.

  5. Bob says:

I find it funny that the right loves to talk about how their candidates understand values, and then make morally ambiguous and illusory statements like trying to divert responsibility by referring to other wrongful acts.

Did your parents ever tell you that two wrongs don’t make a right? If you’re right that some other assault happened, that is wrong too. So what?

And when the stomping of a woman is done by a Rand Paul county chairperson, so this reflects on little Rand. When it’s part of his rallies, his mantra and his organization, then by extension, Rand Paul’s stomping the head of that woman.

  8. Jori says:

Wow, That was some big man, to stomp on the women like that, I would have got up and kicked him between the legs, and show him what it fells like to be humiliated, That guy needs his ass kicked by a bunch of women!

  9. Shane says:

why do these attackers have the look of “totally waisted on drugs” on their faces?

  10. Joe Biteme says:

This career agitator has a history of arrests (and probably mental illness). She made several attempts prior to the “stomping” incident and the police were made aware of her actions. When she gets older, gets a butch haircut and puts on 50+ pounds she will be the perfect code “pinko”.

Awww…A leftist got stomped; my heart bleeds…Not! It’s past time that Americans let the Liberals know in no uncertain terms that they’ll no longer be tolerated to cause problems in our country.

2 wrongs dont make a right , they make a democrat. Finally, the change Obama was talking about is upon us. This is sure to bring out the best in democrat supporters just like this little lady. Unfortunately this episode played right into their hands. Ive got to give it to her, she couldnt of staged it any better.

I’m a Kentuckian & am livid after watching this video on The Ed Show/ MSNBC last night !! I was on my local newspaper’s web site Ky Post:
    http://www.kypost.com/dpps/news/political/tensions-flare-offstage-in-Senate-
    debate_5305909
& I couldn’t believe all the people on there who were saying she deserved it!! All of them who were involved should have been arrested on the spot!! Rand Paul needs to come out as do ALL Republicans, that this is not accepted behavior !! But, I know that won’t happen .. Fox news along w/all the right radio talks shows, are blaming HER, instead of this cowardly men!!

Fellow Kentuckians .. we need to vote next Tuesday!! We can’t let Rand Paul be our next Senator !! “Rat Face” McConnell is bad enough .. he’s an embarrassment to ALL Kentuckians!!

  18. Ernie G says:

What a PUNK!! MAN UP and pick on a MAN…. He is just a Joker looking to attract the attention his mother never gave him….

  19. LumberJock says:

    For ‘jonolan’:

When you’ve paid your dues with a CIB and as many Purple Hearts as this Lib has you can call it ‘our’ country. Till then you are a fifth or sixth class citizen compared to real men. As it is now you are lower than the liberal women you despise.

Coarse … truth be told you can’t really rise above any woman or any liberal. To rise one must be educated, intelligent, perceptive, physically quiet and a survivor along with the rest of the team.

We have a term for you, back in Park Slope — putz … !

    Lum

  20. Bob says:

Vivian, I have been pleasantly surprised by the large number of Republicans here that have agreed there is no excuse for this from Rand Paul’s campaign coordinator. I think the number of Republicans who will vote their disapproval (by not voting) will be high.

@ Jonolan and JoeBiteMe, guess what? You lose, and democracy wins. Unlike Germany in the 1930s, the guy who did this now has a date with the criminal justice system. That’s what’s supposed to happen when you hold someone down and kick them in the head because you disagree with their beliefs. A violent act of attack on our country (not just on the victim) has been answered strongly, with a group effort that identified the criminals and brought them to answer for it.

  21. Bigger Boob says:

Listen Bob, this will have little effect on Rand Paul’s campaign and I suspect next week we will see Paul elected.

Pimp Princess, if I have to hear, one more time, McViegh’s name mentioned in the same conversation as Muslim Terrorist, I think I’ll build that flux-capacitor and go back in time (’95) where that argument would make sense.

  22. Bob says:

Sort of shifting your answers, aren’t you?

I’m not saying Paul may not win. That’s not what you were talking about previously, and it’s not what my response addressed.

    Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

  24. R Flowers says:

More video shows Ms. Vale running up to Paul’s vehicle, looking like she’s throwing something into the window. That, and the fact that she’s wearing a blonde wig, apparently made the crowd uncertain enough about her intentions, that they were a little rough in restraining her.

  25. Lee Kushner says:

My fond memories of Kentucky, although limited in experience, as a state possessed of Good Ole Southern Hospitality, have been seriously violated. That Kentuckians are poised to elect a demagogue like Paul, an extremist who wants to dismantle every shred of constitutionally guaranteed, separation of Church and State, law, and the basic, human rights of the non-wealthy- with the aid of the very disadvantaged people he would oppress, is unthinkable. And that he has commended supporters and encouraged campaign directors who commit brutal and lawless acts, and are thugs, is literally shocking. If he is elected, it will be a disaster for our country and a black mark of disgrace on Kentucky.

  26. Lee Kushner says:

I would call Rand Paul and his assassins, in God ‘Ole Southern fashion: not human, but rather a bunch of cowardly Ninnies.

  27. Bob says:

No, it really doesn’t show that, R Flowers.

I was there, less than 10 feet away. The victim was chased around from the driver’s side of the SUV by the brownshirts after Paul had gotten out and passed, and was then grabbed from behind, pulled down and held while her head was curbstomped. She had nothing with her but a political sign.

In other words, she was head-stomped in an effort by brownshirts to subvert America’s political process through violence. She was attacked, and so was America.

And “they were a little rough in restraining her” is a remarkably poor effort to deny the truth. She was maybe five-foot nothing, not resisting, and was dragged down and had her head bounced against the curb until she had a concussion.

Please. One thing Republicans and Democrats can and must agree on is that in the United States of America, beating political opponents into submission is wrong.

  29. Mike says:

I’d just like to say that before anyone makes comments or picks a side, it’s usually a good idea to get all of the facts before doing so. Let’s start with the video that shows her charging out of the crowd and then shoving her sign into the window. She should have been subdued and arrested at that point, but instead is only pushed away. She then went around the back of the vehicle and attempted to charge Paul again. This time she was brought to the ground. I’ve seen the video several times that the media has aired and called the head stomp. The foot never touched the head people. No, this doesn’t make the action itself less wrong, but calling it a head stomp implies that she got kicked in the head. The foot was on the shoulder, and yes he did then step down on the shoulder. Again, I agree this action was wrong, but “stomp” to me implies that he picked up his leg and then slammed his foot down. Like you would if you were smashing a pop can. That didn’t happen here.
You can see the video of the events leading up to this here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiLeud-sxrM&feature=player_embedded
So, why is the media sensationalizing the “head stomp” while refusing to show the video of her charging the vehicle? Secret Service would have dropped her dead if she had pulled that stunt on a vehicle they were protecting. Local police, and organizers, should have done a better job of roping off the area for peoples safety as well.

  30. Jason says:

If this was the president and she charged the car like that she’d be dead. Shot down.

  31. Bob says:

Yeah. Assault with a deadly yard sign.

You weren’t there. I was. There is no legal basis for her being attacked, dragged down and head-stomped. It is not a crime to have your photo taken with someone, and it’s not a crime to give them a poster. You are defending nothing less than an attack on democracy by violent means.

  32. Sam says:

Wow. A lot of bloodlust coming through in these posts. And the analysis of the stomping/stepping action as if it might be determined to be some degree less than violent? The guy does firmly and forcefully exert pressure to her shoulder, neck and head area with his foot while she is prone; and that is a violent assault. Wouldn’t we all agree that that kind of behaviour is violent if we saw it take place on a football field? This is not unlike the violent bullying of gay people; and you macho types probably think they deserve it, too. Rand Paul lovers seem as perverted as he does. Bully those who are a bit different, kick them to the curb and then laugh at them. That’s Teabagger culture.

  33. bob ross says:

Why is it no one points out how this great nation has become a Military Industrial, Imperialistic Nation. The polices that guided this country over the last 10 years have been a worldwide failure, tell me the things that have gone right, oh that’s right, we’ve been sold a lot of bombs and planes and guns, Is that the centralized spending control that Republicans are talking about, how to keep wars going thru out the world so defense contractors can keep their jobs, even if it takes American troops losing their lives.
With America in a two front war (and it’s still two front) The Nazi Tea Party are coming for the people, with the Republican Party as there Nazi collaborators they enforce there will all over the nation,

Kentucky, Rand Paul’s county campaign director stomps on the head of a woman protester while two other members of his campaign holds her down.

Florida, Allen West used a know criminal outlaw motorcycle gang for security to intimidate the media and protesters, illegally removing a photo reporter from a public park.

Nevada, Sharron Angle threatens the people of the state of Nevada with armed conflict should the people vote against the Tea Party.

Alaska Joe Miller used an unlicensed, untrained, security contractor “Lame zone Security” to intimidate the media and protesters, illegally handcuffing a member of the press and holding him against his will.

This is just the beginning, The Nazi Tea Party has told the American people that they will make this a Christian nation, a perversion of Christianity that will be used for their own unchristian agenda, report a rape, and the police will be used to report where the birth took place, or where the woman died from a botched abortion, all designed to control the American people for the Corporate masters. Corporate masters that will enslave and impoverish the American people forever.

I was told by friend s that all this is terrible but its life, Nazi like that kind of thinking, makes it easy to take the country. (Back)
    It’s been done before.
